FMF Preview

Goals

  • produce a fun, content-rich site that reflects the energy of the Forward Music Festival
  • sell lots of tickets

Features

  • an interactive Lineup page with embedded videos and links to artists' content
  • online ticket purchasing with PayPal integration
  • an embedded Google Spreadsheet for the Schedule page
  • collapsable sponsor categories for the Sponsors page
  • a content management system to manage orders, lineup/artist info, and a simple blog

Roles

  • I built the back-end using PHP and MySQL
  • I helped design the front-end using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX. The Forward Collaborative provided me with all artist media and information.

  • facilitate patient scheduling

Sconnie Nation, LLC

Goals

  • produce an e-commerce site for selling Sconnie apparel
  • offer special features that incorporate Sconnie culture and facilitate user-contributed content

Features

  • product overlay badges (ie: "New!", "Organic", etc.) for specified products
  • an interactive Sconnie Life page that facilitates user-contributed content like photos and videos
  • a Drink Specials Widget for Mac OS X and Windows
  • an administrative section for managing all aspects of the site, including products, orders, user-contributed content, and a basic blog

Roles

  • I built the back-end using PHP and MySQL. I was assisted by one other developer. UW-NetNerds, LLC provided project management services.
  • I designed the front-end using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX. Sconnie Nation, LLC provided all product info and photos.
  • I designed and built both versions of the Drink Specials widget using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Sconnie Nation, LLC provided drink specials information.
  • I left this project in 2007, and Sconnie Nation has since hired another developer with aesthetic preferences that differ from my own.

  • create an innovative online portfolio that makes Mike stand out
  • show Mike's appreciation for a dynamic relationship to information

Features

  • collapsable document sections, interview questions, and Mike's responses. This allows prospective employers to drill-down and learn as much about Mike as they want.
  • tight integration with Google Docs as the content management system

  • I built the back-end using PHP, MySQL, and Google Docs' API
  • I designed the front-end using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The front-end is based on the "Blue Rays Cover Letter" Google Docs theme by Google.
  • Mike Butler provided me with all of the information in his administrative portfolio
